Gravitas Ventures Partners with Director Charlie Minn and Slater Brothers Entertainment on Three Picture Deal
Documentaries Completed During COVID Set To Release Starting In April
Los Angeles, CA (MARCH 3, 2021) - Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, has taken worldwide distribution rights to three new documentaries recently completed and produced by Charlie Minn Films and Slater Brothers Entertainment. The films (7 Murders A Day, Who Shot Colosio?, and Miracle on 4th Street), explore subject matters that Minn is well versed in telling via his years working in investigative journalism.
The films were directed and produced by Charlie Minn (Where Is Robert Fisher, Es El Chapo), and Slater Brothers Entertainment’s Todd Slater (Last Three Days) and Grant Slater (Odd Man Rush, She’s In Portland).
The three films, which Minn shot prior and during COVID, are set to roll out starting in April, 2021. Miracle on 4th Street tells the tragedy was the largest mass shooting in Texas history. This was also the fourth largest mass shooting. 7 Murders a Day explores Tijuana, Mexico and when it became the murder capital of the world when the city averaged 7 murders a day in 2018. This turned out to be one of the greatest human rights disasters of all time. Who Shot Colosio? tells the story of a charismatic high-profile politician was running for President of Mexico when he was gunned down at a political rally in Tijuana in 1994. This brazen assassination was caught on video – just like the Kennedy shooting – and questions linger about who did it and why.
The deal was negotiated by Todd Slater of Slater Brothers Entertainment and Brett Rogalsky of Gravitas Ventures.
“Gravitas is thrilled to distribute Charlie’s thought provoking and powerful documentaries. Charlie has a deep history in telling stories starting when he was a news reporter and during his time working with America’s Most Wanted,” stated Gravitas exec Brett Rogalsky.
“We are excited that Gravitas believe in each of the film’s potential. Charlie is an incredible documentarian and his films give raw insight into some of the most controversial topics to ever grip our society,” said the Slater Brothers.
Minn welcomed the news and stated, "As I progress in my career, I always try to seek new opportunities and challenges. I've always been aware of Gravitas and its power of getting films out there far and wide, so it's an honor to be working with them. More people should take note of all the injustices around the world as it's all around us. Humanity is lacking these days, so I hope these films will fully inform and educate society for it to become a better place."
